Brooke’s Thoughts
I’m really disappointed with this book. I had been wanting to read it since it came out in 2020 and it was so hyped. It was great until about the halfway point. I liked the mystery of the people and the house and it was creepy but not too scary. But then it started to feel long and drawn out. Then it started to get weird and kinda gross. I wasn’t that shocked about the “twist” either and I didn’t even find it that original. I guess I’ve seen too many horror movies about taking over or switching bodies. Overall, I gave 3 stars but was actually considering 2.5 because of how much I didn’t care for the second half. The narrator, Frankie Corzo, did a good job at least and gave me the spooky Halloween vibes I was wanting.
